The Myth Behind the Name
In Greek mythology, Galatea was one of the fifty Nereids, sea nymphs who were the daughters of the ancient sea god Nereus and Doris. Known for her beauty and grace, Galatea is often depicted as a symbol of the calm and serene aspects of the sea.
